I decided it would be a fun idea to have an interactive exhibit at my Open Studios. The theme is immigration. I have a grouping of paintings called "A Boat to America". (View them on my web site) Below the grouping I will have a chain. People will be asked if they are descendants of immigrants, when did the relative arrive and where were they from. They will write this on a label and tie it to the chain. The idea stems from the direction the Museum of Art and History here in Santa Cruz is going. Also, in the past, when I exhibited this work I listened to some interesting stories. I hope you will come by the studio and represent your family on my wall.
