Painting Space and other Oddities July 7, 2011
Books from the Junior section of the library provide fantastic reference photographs. I found a book about Pluto that had some really nice illustrations of the planet and surrounding space. Never really thought about how the sun would be viewed from Pluto.
I'm finding painting Outer Space a bit difficult. Space is dark except for the stars. My paintings are usually brighter. The book helped fill in some voids I was having trouble with in my composition. My "dark" space has many deep colors in it. Still working on it. It might just be a dark painting.
I figured out how to make and present a reasonable print of my work to sell at retail for under $20. Planning to sell them at my Open Studio in October.
