Did you go to Freelance Camp? I know it's not exactly what your describing. It would be great to get this going. I'll look into what's happening at NextSpace and see what they have going on. It seems to be a hub for graphic designers.

cross discipline mixer

It would be great to have an event that includes speakers who work in a cross disciplinary format in order to create meaningful design results. Maybe have a graphic designer who collaborates with industrial designers or an illustrator who works with film makers etc.

This would draw a wide range of attendees & we could be inspired to think about how we can connect/support/promote each other in order to develop new project work together.

I like it. I'll bring it up at the Board meeting at the end of this month. So what if it was posted in '09. Still a great idea!

freelance workshop

I'd like to see the SCD+IC host a workshop for freelance Graphic Designers. Perhaps this could be a good place to pick up tips, share struggles and meet others creatives we might be able to collaborate with on projects.
